I recently have become more conscious of the environment and what I can do to try to limit waste and use of resources. I’ve been trying to do this for a while now, but for some reason, my brain feels necessary to add just one more thing to my plate to think about during a pandemic.
I found these really cute “UnPaper” towels on Etsy – the are many sellers of these but somehow I chose “Marley’s Monsters.” [PS – I have no affiliation with them nor do I get any $ for mentioning them.]
I just want to say, I really like them! There are definitely still times that a paper towel is better (think: absorption) but these work really nicely for all the rest of the times.
I keep them folded in a little basket on the counter. They say that you can roll these up and put them on a paper towel holder, but that seems like a lot of work to me (ain’t nobody got time for that).
We use them as napkins, to wipe my kiddos faces/hands after eating, to cover things while in the microwave, to wipe off the counter . Yes, it does add a minimal amount of laundry, but with two kids, we are constantly doing laundry anyway (edit: my husband does that chore cause I hate it – I love him).
What are some things you do around your home/kitchen to help the environment?
I recently bought reusable “plastic” bags and love them! I was going through so many while freezing homemade baby food and they are great! Super easy to clean too!
